Why this Title?
This site's title refers to Rudolf Steiner's culmination at the end of the 2nd millennium or beginning of the third millennium. By this he means that the complementary impulses of Aristotelians and Platonists should join forces to ensure a continuation and renewal of culture, indeed a survival of civilization. The books on this site either approach the theme specifically, or bring complementary, Michaelic perspectives to what is known within present anthroposophical culture. A page is specifically devoted to American cultural impulses that have contributed, or are contributing to cultural renewal. The theme of integration has been central and integral to my biography, to such a degree that it appeared in research themes in which I was not deliberately seeking it, as I invite you to discover.
Author's Bio
Cultures have been a great part of my upbringing, since I'm American born, part Italian, part Peruvian, mostly grew up in Belgium, and have lived the longest in the US. I have long had a passion for social change from a cultural/spiritual perspective. Professionally this has brought me to working with the developmentally disabled in the intentional, holistic, communities of Camphill International and L'Arche International, and also in the mainstream. Being a founding member of the Wavecrest L'Arche Community in Los Angeles was a memorable experience. I have lived in intentional cohousing for the last ten years; first in Ecovillage Ithaca, now at Headwaters Cohousing in Cabot, in both places actively involved in community building and process facilitation.
Since 1999 researching/writing has been a great part of my life. Themes cover both American history and movements of cultural renewal, and global cultural/spiritual renewal. Only of late have I started writing on meditative material I have used for years, publishing an essay on the Foundation Stone Meditation and on the Calendar of the Soul. In my free time I enjoy the outdoors in many forms-gardening, hiking, skiing-love singing and playing music, and enjoy many kinds of social events.
